December fun... a lead up to CHRISTmas!!!!

This year Christmas didn't exactly sneak up on us... It bulldozed in and ran us over!!!
But it was still a wonder and blesssed season for our family....

Mom and Dad took us all to the Symphony in downtown Indy. It was a terrible day weather wise and we had to walk a couple of blocks in it.  Chris had the real hike, he dropped us off pretty close and then drove until he found a place to park.  Luckily he was willing to hike back to the van after the show and come pick us up!!

I made the girls dresses... and they were a hit!!! I LOVE them and so did the girls!!! The skirts were super full making them super twirly!!! There was a sash that tied in the back and made a HUGE bow. The top was sleeveless, but I found little jackets/sweaters made from the same material as the top. Mighty Moe refused to wear hers saying it "wasn't pitty" that way. She bounced around the whole time without it. The lobby was a little chilly and we finally convinced her to put it on!!! They looked so pretty and were so well behaved. The show was WONDERFUL and we had a great time. There were dancing Santas, ballerinas, beautiful music and tons of other stuff. The girls LOVED all the trees they had set up. They were so sparkly and colorful... I think they were in awe of the whole experience.

In the lobby with Nana.

Don't you LOVE Moe's silver shoes??? She tries to wear them everywhere!!!

Of course we had a school field trip... to Connor Prarie and the Gingerbread Jamboree!!! It was a really cute program, it started in one of the old homes on the property with a story and then we went into the kitchen where an old lady was baking. she let the kids touch and smell all the ingredients for gingerbread and then told them they could have a piece of her gingerbread cookie, but when they opened the oven to get it out... yep, you guessed it, it was gone. Then they went to the barn where there were cows, sheep and a pig (real ones) and searched for him. When we didn't find him the guide encouraged the kids to look for clues... G-girl suggested footprints and guess what... that gingerbread man left LARGE footprint clues for us to follow. He led us back to the main building and then we captured him in one of the rooms. He let all the kids have pictures and even did a couple of songs and dances with them!!! Then they all got to decorate and eat a couple of cookies. It was a really cute program and we will probably participate in a couple more in the spring!!

We also let the girls get their own small tree this year... hoping it would mean that they leave the big one alone... the plan didn't work that well but it was fun to have a second tree.
They decorated it themselves.

Moe chose to wear her capri pants and sparkly sandals ( they are a hand me down from G-girl who got them handed down from Autumn S. a couple of years ago.) Do you see a trend in her foot wear??

The tree ended up in the kitchen and I used it to display our Christmas cards.  It worked really well.
