I thought I wanted to have boys...but I got 2 of the girliest girls there are and I wouldn't trade them for the world. Gracie is a movie star in practice...everything is very dramatic and larger than life, she even smoothes her hair back like a movie star and prances about like a princess...until she goes outside. Notice the boots, she loves them and would wear them everywhere if I let her, she loves to push her sister in the swing and sing, normally a song she made up herself where she just repeats "fwingging in the fwing, fwingging in the fwing" over and over. Not sure where that came from. She also loves to check on our asparagus, if we have one ready she comes in and gets her plastic knife and helps me cut the stalk then talks about how much she likes it and how good it will taste, but then won't eat it.
Then there is Mollie, we call her trouble most of the time. She is a snuggler and hugger and knows how to use it to get what she wants. She loves to swing and if by chance Gracie gets in the swing first here she comes doing the sign for "share" meaning she wants Gracie out and she wants in. She also loves her rubber boots and if you mention "outside" she is at the door trying to get those boots on.
She loves to help in the garden only she doesn' t quite get what is a plant and what is a weed. Here she is helping with the beans!!! We have a big garden this year...mostly tomatoes, I didn' t quite have a concept of what 35 tomato plants was!!! We also have cucumbers for pickeling, green beans, corn, watermelon and of course my sunflowers!!! With the girls getting bigger I hope to get more pickels made this year and lots of green beans canned!!! We are also going to be able to make some homemade salsa again!!!! Last year we had a little too much going on to do all the canning we had hoped to do!!!
This picture shows most of the garden...in the distance is the field that had the wheat, we usually have 2 crops at a time, the farmer rotates between, corn, soy beans and winter wheat. That field has already been replanted with soy beans. To the left in the picture is what we call the dump...before the we bought the farm it had been rented out to various families who did not take good care of it, they used this area behind the house as a dump...there is all kinds of stuff back there, we hope to get it cleaned out one of these days. Right now we go in there because amongst all the trash there are wild raspberry patches, the girls love to pick and eat them!!!
